Process Work
Lighting and form were heavily referenced from a 3D digital maquette (sculpted in ZBrush, staged and rendered in Cinema 4D). The outer shape and renal pelvis were derived from CT scan data of healthy kidneys. The renal pyramids were sculpted based on photo references.
After building the maquette, a clean linear sketch with all details was developed. Tissue texture and shading were later rendered in photoshop.
